From Kenya’s Coast to the Heart of Uganda
Cycling Across East Africa
In September 2026, I will embark on a new adventure: riding a bicycle purchased locally in Kenya across East Africa — from the Kenyan coast to the heart of Uganda.
But this journey is about more than adventure.
Throughout my travels, I have witnessed the challenges that millions of people face every day — challenges that many of us can hardly imagine. Lack of access to clean water, education, and basic medical care remains a daily reality for countless communities.
Through my humanitarian organization, Warm Hearts, I want to do more than simply raise awareness — I want to take action. Funds raised during the expedition will be used directly where they are needed most. Together with local communities, I aim to implement meaningful projects and create lasting impact.
Every mile traveled represents new encounters, fresh perspectives, and an opportunity to make a difference together.
Miles for Smiles combines adventure with humanity and demonstrates that even a single journey can create real change.

Vinyunduni school of hearts
With the Vinjunduni School of Hearts project, we were able to provide direct and meaningful support to children at Vinjunduni School in Kenya.
Many of the students come from families who cannot afford new school uniforms and basic school supplies. That’s why we provided 65 children with new school uniforms, helping them continue attending school and take part in their final examinations. We also provided 660 new pencils for the school’s 630 students.
Sport is another important part of school life, so we supplied the football, handball and volleyball teams with a new set of jerseys and a new ball for each team. To finish the project, we shared a special day together with the children, including their favourite meal, rice and beans.
A project made up of many small things that can make a big difference in the lives of the children.
Through our project “A Home with a Future,” we support the Fountain of Grace Rescuers Center in the slums of Nairobi. The center currently provides 25 children who previously lived on the streets with a safe home, regular meals, and access to education.
Many of the children were previously exposed to difficult living conditions and had already come into contact with substances such as petrol or glue. At the center, they are given the opportunity to break this cycle and grow up in a safe and supportive environment.
As the center itself is facing significant financial challenges, we initially covered one month’s rent to provide immediate financial relief.
At the same time, we wanted to create support that goes beyond a one-time donation. We therefore transformed an unused area of the center into a chicken coop and provided 15 chickens. The income generated from selling the eggs is intended to help cover the center’s ongoing expenses and gradually strengthen its financial independence.
In this way, we combine immediate support with a sustainable approach – so that these 25 children not only have a home today, but also the opportunity to build a better life from there.

A Home with a Future
Zawadi is currently attending Preschool Class 2 and loves learning and playing together with the other children. However, due to the difficult financial situation of her family and the Fountain of Grace Rescuers Center, her school fees could no longer be paid. This made her the only one of the 25 children at the center who was unable to attend school.
Through “A Year Full of Opportunities,” Warm Hearts is covering Zawadi’s school fees for an entire year. In addition, we have paid her outstanding costs for a school trip she had already taken, allowing Zawadi to continue her education without any outstanding school debts.
On October 20, 2026, she can now take part in her preschool graduation. Afterwards, her entire first year of Grade 1 will also be fully funded.
This gives Zawadi the opportunity to return to school regularly, learn and play alongside the other children, and simply be a child.
Because education is more than just lessons: It creates opportunities, builds confidence, and can open new paths for children.

Water for Today, Knowledge for Tomorrow
With our project “Water for Today, Knowledge for Tomorrow”, we support the Fountain of Grace Rescuers Center in the slums of Nairobi, which provides a home for 25 children. The center lacked the financial resources to refill its water tank, forcing the children to collect drinking water from the surrounding neighborhood in buckets.
Thanks to our support, we were able to refill the tank with 5,000 liters of water, ensuring a water supply for the entire center for the whole month.
In addition, we covered the examination fees for Maina and Claris. Both are 16 years old—one boy and one girl—and can now sit their final Junior School examinations. On October 26, they are expected to graduate from Junior School, allowing them to move on to Secondary School.
Through this project, we provide immediate support for everyday needs while creating new educational opportunities for the future.
